In terms of Poker tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere, the Aussie Millions is the big one. There is a whopping guaranteed first prize of AUD$2 million. The road to this prestigious Poker tournament has been paved with loads of exciting challenges including loads of promotions and multiple satellite tournaments.

Luckily for online poker players wanting to break into the Poker big time, there are many online casinos operating in this posh event. Some casinos even offer all-exclusive entertainment and accommodation deals for lucky players. And at the end of the tournament he or she who is crowned Aussies Millions Champion will forever live in the lap of luxury.

As usual, all the big name brands in online casinos are being represented for the 2010 Aussie Millions event in Melbourne. These include Bwin, 888 and iPoker among a notable list of others. Getting into the competition has been the most gruelling part for players. The weekly Satellites and Qualifiers run at a range from $275 to $550. The sub-qualifiers range from $2.20 to $16.

The Aussie Millions is held every year in January at the Crown Casino in Melbourne Australia. Indeed the very first Aussie Millions was first held in 1998 with a $1,000 buy-in and $74,000 prize pool. In that competition there were ten international participants, mostly from New Zealand. Over 800 Poker players are expected in the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament. But it’s the AUD$10,500 buy-in, No Limit Texas Hold’em game that’s got everyone drooling.
