Seidel final tables second consecutive EPL Main Event

We know on Day 1 that every Epic Poker league Main Event final table is going to be stacked, so the fact that a player of Erik Seidel’s prominence has made the final table isn’t all that surprising. What IS surprising is that the prominent player is once again Erik Seidel!

Seidel’s 2011 tournament campaign is on its way to the history books, as the long-time poker pro has dominated small-field/high-buy-in tournaments all year long, and by making his second consecutive Epic Poker League Main Event final table, Seidel has cemented his 2011 tournament success as one of the best years ever –and we’re only in early September!

Standing in Seidel’s way are seven very talented poker players in their own right, including young phenom Mike “Timex” McDonald, 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Sean Getzwiller, and tournament veteran Nam Le (Both Le and Getzwiller won their way into the tournament playing in the $1,500 Pro/Am event). Getzwiller is the lone final table member who is not a qualified Epic Poker league player, and has won his way into both Main Events through the Pro/Am satellites.

Here is a look at the chip counts of the remaining eight players heading into Friday’s final table:

  1. David Paul Steicke – 1,059,000
  2. Erik Seidel – 1,031,000
  3. Isaac Baron – 876,000
  4. Fabrice Soulier – 537,000
  5. Dutch Boyd – 393,000
  6. Nam Le – 362,000
  7. Mike McDonald – 357,000
  8. Sean Getzwiller – 235,000
