With the record-setting starting field finally combined for Day 2 of the PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event the play was fast and furious from the outset, and when it came time to tag and bag their chips a number of poker’s top players didn’t just survive the day, but thrived.

Among the players who had plenty of chips to count at the end of play were 2011 WSOP Main Event breakout star Guillame Darcourt –still sporting pink hair by the way—and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst, both of whom ended the day in the Top 10.

Other big names who managed to make it through to Day 3 of the tournament were Victor Ramdin, Lock Poker Pro Chris Moorman, Tobias Reinkemeier, PokerStars Big Game competitor Max Martinez, newly minted Lock Poker Pro Leo Margets, 2010 November Niner Filippo Candio, Martin Jacobson, and Mickey Peterson; along with Team PokerStars Pros Andre Akkari, Eugene Katchalov, Ivan Demidov, tennis legend Boris Becker, Rino Mathis, Alexander Kravchenko, and Leo Fernandez.

Here is a look at the Top 10 chip counts heading into Day 3 of the tournament:

1. Xavier Carruggi –577,700

2. Toni Pettersson — 534,100

3. Martin Schleich — 453,400
