Toni Judet leads EPT Loutraki after Day 2

After two full days of play at the inaugural European Poker Tour stop in Loutraki, Greece it’s a Team PokerStars Pro leading the way, but likely not one of the Team PokerStars Pros you would expect. Instead of Daniel Negreanu, Liv Boeree, or even the recently added 2011 WSOP Champion Pius Heinz, it’s former Billiards champ Toni Judet from Romania leading the way.

Of the 336 players that entered the tournament on the two Day 1’s Tuesday and Wednesday only 100 are still in contention for the first ever EPT Loutraki title and the €347,000 first-place prize-money. There are a number of notable names still in contention for the title, and in addition to Judet you might recognize such names as current Card Player Magazine Online Player of the Year leader Jason Wheeler, EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee, Rupert Elder, Jude Ainsworth, Johnny Lodden, Roberto Romanello, David Peters, David Vamplew, Roger Hairabedian, and McLean Karr –not to mention a slew of very difficult to spell and pronounce Greek names.

Here is a look at the current leaders at the EPT Loutraki Main Event:

1. Toni Judet — 288,200

2. Grudi Grudev — 251,600

3. Zimnan Ziyard — 238,900

4. Fahredin Mustafov — 225,200

5. Robert Cezarescu — 221,900

6. Jacques Torbey — 219,600

7. Igal Augarten — 195,400

8. Pim Van Riet — 192,700

9. Jason Wheeler — 178,500

10. Mario Puccini — 174,900

The money bubble should burst at some point on Day 3, with only 48 of the remaining 100 players scheduled to make the money.
