Durrrr Challenge Still Seeking New Challenger

There has been a lot of talk about the ‘Durrrr Challenge’, a high stakes real money cash game played between Full Tilt Poker professional Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan and any other professional poker player that wants to lock horns with the young starlet over 60,000 poker hands.

Currently the challenge has been running for a number of months and the only player who has been involved with the game so far is Patrik Antonius.

So far Dwan and Antonius have played a total of 50,000 hands out of the 60,000 set at the time of acceptance of the challenge offered by Dwan.

With only 10,000 hands still to play out, it has been reported that Dwan is currently running well within the game, been placed on a profit of between $1.5 million and $1.9 million.

Now that the end of the challenge from Antonius is set to come to a close, Dwan is already trying to seek new opponents and with that fact being made common knowledge within the professional ranks of the game, high profile names seem to be thrown into the air as who is to be the next to battle it out with the young pro.

Recent stories have suggested that Brain Townsend is more than ready to enter his name into the list of opponents but after a comment made by Dwan on the poker forum 2+2 it seems unlikely that Townsend is next in line.

Meanwhile, Full Tilt Poker seem to want to offer a couple of names into the list too, insisting that both Phil Ivey and David Benyamine are both more than willing to also make a show and enter into the challenge.

This could turn out to be a very interesting game should some of the names that have been thrown into the mixer turn out to be true, with Phil Ivey, who is considered to be the best heads up poker player in the world at the moment, being a real opponent for Dwan to try to overcome.
