Online poker community waiting on Cates and Quereshi

The scandal involving the Portuguese Poker Prodigy came to a standstill yesterday when all of the main players involved declined to talk to the poker community. However, we also learned that both Daniel “jungleman12” Cates –who seems to be the least involved, but also the least willing to talk up to this point– and Haseeb “DogisHead” Quereshi will be issuing written statements in the next day or two.

According to his PR agent, Cates will be revealing what he knows in a forthcoming interview with Bluff Magazine, while Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky claims to have confronted Quereshi with some evidence/opinions and stated on the 2+2 poker forums that Quereshi will be addressing these allegations in a forthcoming blog post.

The lull in evidence coming forward, has left the thread in the NVG forum open to conjecture and conspiracy theories, while the HSNL thread has ground to a halt with a manageable number of posts. But once Quereshi and Cates finally speak at length about the situation you can expect the forums to become ablaze with posts of all kinds –My guess is the 2+2 moderator team is preparing for this onslaught by resting and staying hydrated, since they are basically “on-call” at this point!
