Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’Galfond joins High Stakes Poker
It was a case of revolving Phil’s on this week’s episode of GSN’s High Stakes Poker as Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond replaced Phil Ivey at the High Stakes Poker table. Galfond wasted no time, getting involved in one of the biggest hands of the evening. Galfond found himself mixed up in a big pot against High Stakes Poker regular Eli Elezra holding a mere Q-7 of diamonds. Elezra flopped top-two and led out with a big bet that Galfond reluctantly called with a flush draw. A blank on the turn saw Elezra push all-in effectively killing any odds Galfond might have with his draw, forcing the online poker legend to fold.
Another big hand saw a couple of Frenchmen battle it out, David Benyamine and Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspieller. With both players holding very marginal cards –Benyamine with an 8-6 of clubs and Grosspieller with a 4-6 of spades—the 2-3-3 flop with two clubs ended up creating one of the biggest pots of the night. ‘ElkY’ led out with his gutshot and was called by benyamine’s flush draw. The 4 on the turn gave ElkY a pair, and improved Benyamine’s draws to include a gutshot straight. However, both players checked the turn despite both improving. The river was the 4 of clubs –making Benyamine’s flush, but improving ElkY to a full house—and that’s when the betting started! ElkY check-raised Benyamine, who ended up calling the $40,000 raise, shipping ElkY a $150,000 pot.
If you want to be like OMGClayAiken and make money playing poker online, one of the easiest ways would to be, when considering to sign up at a new online poker site, check to see if they offer rakeback.
