When you follow a celebrity or an athlete on Twitter or Instagram, you expect content that covers their respective fields and gives one a glimpse into their world. Poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu is giving his social media followers a lot more than poker related content, even though his followers want him to stick to poker and not get into subjects like politics.

Negreanu – Strong Presence On Social Media

The legendary poker pro is ranked number one on the all time money list with over $34 million in career prize money. The 43 year old poker pro from Canada has won 6 World Series of Poker gold bracelets and is widely regarded as the best poker pro in the world. He has more than 440 thousand followers on Twitter (@RealKidPoker) and over 100 thousand followers on Instagram (@dnegspoker) and is very active on both accounts.

The PokerStars Team Pro was representing the brand at the ongoing PokerStars Championships Barcelona and was less than 2 miles away from the spot where the recent terror attacks took place. Terrorists drove a van into a crowd in the tourist haven of Cambrils, killing 14 people and injuring 130 in the process. Negreanu is safe and the PokerStars Championships Barcelona hasn’t been cancelled.

Negreanu condemned the terrorist attack in Barcelona as well as the recent racist attack in Charlottesville, Virginia. He minced no words in saying that one of the reasons why the Nazi group was able to march boldly in the streets was because they feel empowered by President Donald Trump and his views. Negreanu has been very vocal from the outset about his dislike for Trump and his policies and is not afraid to express his opinion on political and social issues.

Negreanu Will Not Change Social Media Image

This is not something that his followers want but Negreanu is not going to change his opinions or what he Tweets about. He is not worried about losing followers or pleasing his followers as he says that it is important to him to live his life based on his beliefs and that includes sharing his beliefs. He says that if his followers do not want him to express his beliefs because they don’t like it, there is a strong possibility that they will not like him and he will not like them – which means there is no reason for them to be following him in the first place!
