iSeriesLIVE offers real-time betting on Poker
There is a new player in the televised poker industry, the iSeriesLIVE, but unlike its predecessors and the current incarnations of televised poker shows, iSeries is putting a whole new spin on the staid programming that poker fans have grown accustomed to.
The iSeries will be an invitation-only poker series, bringing together the biggest stars in the poker world. However, the iSeries also offers the casual poker player and poker enthusiast a chance to get in on the action by placing real-time wagers on the outcomes of the poker game! Viewers will be able to bet on virtually anything that is taking place in the game, from what the color of the next card will be to who will win the event –with fluctuating lines based on what is transpiring.
The first iSeires event will take place on April 5th in Dublin, Ireland, and some of the biggest names in poker are already lined-up to participate, including Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. For the players the iSeries will use a Ten-person Sit & Go format with a $10,000 buy-in; the tournament will use a winner-take-all structure, so the victorious player will earn $100,000.
Fans will be able to watch the event from their computers and at iSeriesLive.com and can choose from a variety of wagers at PaddyPoker.com:
* Updated Odds to Win
* Winner of Next Hand
* Next Elimination
* Redder/Blacker Flop
* Pair on Flop
* Trips on Flop
* Straight on Flop
* Flush on Flop
* Straight Flush on Flop
Here is a look at the current on odds to win for the first iSeriesLIVE Sit & Go:
* Daniel Negreanu – 11/2
* Maria Ho – 10/1
* Tobias Reinkemeier – 15/2
* Marvin Rettenmaier – 8/1
* Carlos Mortensen – 7/1
* Eoghan O’Dea – 7/1
* Faraz Jaka – 8/1
* Dave Ulliott – 15/2
* James Dempsey – 9/1
* Phil Hellmuth – 13/2
The tournament was announced by Poker Royalty, the company that represents a number of the game’s top players. The founder of Poker Royalty (one of BLUFF Magazine’s Power 20 in poker) Brian Balsbaugh was quoted as saying, “We’re all about finding new ways to help players make money. With iSeriesLIVE, participating players have the opportunity to share in the profits of the event while fans of the game get to live vicariously through their favorite pros as they bet on the action. It’s an exciting step in the overall growth of the game.”
If the first event is successful fans can expect a number of other formats in future iSeries tournaments, including multiple-table events and different formats and structures.
Of course, US players will not be able to get in on the betting action, but can still watch the tournament play out at iserieslive.com.
