PokerNewsBoy MascotEvery day the poker world is inundated with more news, reports, and gossip, than any of us can read. At PokerNewsBoy.com we understand that there are only so many hours in the day, and only so much time you can set aside to follow all of the stories taking place, so we have come up with the Daily Grind as a solution. The Daily Grind will make sure you don’t miss any of the more obscure poker stories, wrapping up the day in poker in one neat, concise, column.

Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including Lee Jones new role at PokerStars, a new partnership for one Massachusetts casino project, and Daniel Negreanu goes all-in for St. Judes.

Daniel Negreanu fundraising for St. Judes

In his latest vLog Daniel Negreanu spoke about a leadership class he is taking, and how along with his fellow (classmates?) attendees they decided to start a $100k fundraiser for St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital. The group gave themselves only seven days to raise the funds, but Daniel has vowed to match ALL donations up to $50,000, so I don’t see them having any trouble bypassing their goal. You can watch the latest vLog and get the details on where to donate below –right now the group is at $55,000 raised:

Lee Jones has a new job at PokerStars

There was a bit of restructuring at PokerStars this week as the site decided to create a very powerful conglomerate of communications positions, and fill them with some of the most respected names in poker. Lee Jones has a new title at PokerStars as the longtime industry man sheds his old skin as the Head of Home Games and dons the new title of Head of Player Communications. Jones new role at PokerStars will see him slide in alongside current Head of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreisser and newly appointed Head of PR Michael Josem.

Foxwoods pairs with Massachusetts casino developer

A report in the MilfordDailyNews.com has Foxwoods now joining forces with casino developer David Nunes who has leased a swath of land on the outskirts of Milford and sent the state a casino proposal. With Foxwoods now on board the Milford area casino proposal has just gained a lot of steam. Milford is pitted against the Steve Wynn-led Everett project as well as the Suffolk Downs proposal just outside of Boston. You can read the article here:
