Full Tilt e-mails players Play-Money will be offered

Posted by Steve Ruddock on Oct 12, 2012 Posted in Online Poker News | 1 Comment »

On Thursday myself and hundreds of thousands of US poker players with Full Tilt Poker accounts found out that we would soon be able to access our Full Tilt accounts. Unfortunately this access only gives us the chance to view our accounts (which will let players see and verify their balances, FTP Points, and other assets for the first time since April of 2011), we will not be allowed to participate in real-money poker games when the site relaunches in early November.

Also mentioned in the E-Mail is the remission process that US players will have to go through in order to receive their Full Tilt Poker funds from the US Department of Justice.

The E-Mail also makes clear that US poker players will not be able to participate in real-money games on Full Tilt Poker “until it is permissible to do so under relevant law”, although play-money games will be available to US players.

Here is a look at the E-Mail sent to US Full Tilt players:

Dear xxxxxxx,

As a player on Full Tilt Poker, you may be aware of the recent settlement reached with the U.S. Department of Justice (the “DOJ”).

Full Tilt Poker will not offer real money online poker in the U.S. until it is permissible to do so under relevant law.

In relation to your account balance, you will have the opportunity to file petition with the DOJ through a remission process which will be administrated by the DOJ.

In light of the above, only play chip games will be available to Full Tilt Poker players in the U.S. following re-launch, in the first week of November, 2012. Your Full Tilt Points balance will remain intact in your account.

Please note that we are unable to answer queries in relation to your funds – all such questions should be directed to the DOJ in accordance with the procedure to be defined by them.

Please retain this email for your records.

Sincerely,

Full Tilt Poker

In addition to the E-Mail sent to US players PokerStars is moving forward with their November 6th relaunch date announcing everything from the signing of Gus Hansen and the intention to restatrt the popular FTOPS tournament series in December, to Full Tilt Poker acquiring a license from the Isle of Man in recent weeks.
