wcoopThe 2013 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event absolutely shattered its $8 million guarantee as a total of 2,133 players registered for the $5,200 buy-in tournament, generating a total prize-pool in excess of $10 million.

Of the 2,133 original entrants only 296 managed to make it to Day 2 on Monday, and despite the deep-run, a couple dozen of those players still fell short of the money bubble, as only 243 players made the money.

There were plenty of big names vying for the title right up until the final table, when the sole chance for a well-known WCOOP champion to be crowned was Shane “Shaniac” Schleger. But it wasn’t meant to be for the PokerStars Team Online Pro, who tweeted out the following message:

“That’s a wrap. Lost the ultimate crucial flip 55 to AK for heaps, still feeling pretty f’ing good about this run.”

Without getting too into the specifics of what took place (you can read that on the PokerStars blog if you’d like) Schleger’s run would end in 6th place (an impressive $291k score) which allowed Team Germany to take control of the tournament, and pull-off the rare 1-2-3 finish after a three-way deal saw each of the players pocket over $1 million.

Here is a look at the final table payouts from the tournament as reported by PokerStars:

1. PlayinWasted (Germany) — $1,493,499.15*
