A lot of big name poker pros have been doing very well in this go- round of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker. This time it was Team PokerStars pro Jason Mercier doing the honors by capturing the title in Event #42, a $1,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem event, worth an astounding $435k!

With a total of 3,122 entrants the tournament’s total prize-pool soared to over $3 million, far exceeding the guarantee the tournament offered. Mercier was involved in a three-way deal at the end of the tournament that was based on stack-size, and allocated an additional $15,000 for 2nd place and $60,000 for 1st place.
