Kevin ‘kevmath’ Mathers joins Bluff Magazine as poker writer

Anyone who has ever frequented the 2+2 online poker forums is surely familiar with the name ‘kevmath’, one of the most respected and insightful posters/moderators on the site. ‘kevmath’ is also one of the top poker bloggers, posting on the wildly popular Pokerati website. Despite his credentials, up until a week ago nobody even knew who ‘kevmath’ was! He was the Isildur1 of the poker blogosphere!

All of that changed about a week ago when ‘kevmath’ appeared on the Wicked Chops Poker podcast, This Week in Poker, thus revealing his identity as Kevin Mathers, and in the process provided one of the greatest bits of foreshadowing in poker history when he stated he didn’t believe he had the creative writing skills to become a paid poker journalist. A week later Mathers landed a job with Bluff Magazine to work as… Wait for it… A paid poker journalist!

Bluff Magazine has issued a statement via Twitter saying: “Very happy to announce that @kevmath is joining @bluffmagazine in an editorial capacity. Welcome aboard Kev!”

Kevmath also made a farewell post on Pokerati, where he describes the bittersweet feeling. And of course, Pokerati’s DanM described the fallout in his typical tongue in cheek way, by ‘firing’ kevmath in what could go down as one of the most sarcastic firings of all-time!
