Lock Poker beats Revolution in Battle of Sunday Tournaments

Lock PokerAfter their recent public and very contentious split, the battle between Lock Poker and the remainder of the Revolution Gaming Network is now underway, and the first victory can be claimed by Lock Poker.

Lock Scores a Sunday Guarantee Victory

Verifiable, independent, traffic numbers are hard to come by at the new Lock Poker, since PokerScout.com is not tracking the site as of yet.

With that in mind, in order to compare the two sites we have to turn to other metrics. One specific metric that we can use is to look at the number of tournament entries for each site’s weekly tournament, and going by those numbers Lock was the clear winner this week.

Lock Poker saw 250 runners in its big Sunday tournament, while the Revolution Gaming Network only managed 160 runners. Both tournaments are roughly a $110 buy-in events, with Lock Poker’s featuring a $25,000 guarantee and Revolution’s featuring a $15,000 guarantee.

Lock Poker v2.0 Software Updrade

In an E-Mail sent to players on Monday, Lock Poker has announced that they have transitioned to their new software platform without incident, and the site has already announced an upgrade to the software that includes new customizable avatars and a fully functioning hand replayer.

The software now in use at Lock Poker is a version of the software used at PartouchePoker.fr. The black color scheme always favored by Lock and the Lock Poker logo remain in place, and the new updates to the Lock Poker client will be a welcome addition by players at the site.

Traffic Numbers

Until pokerscout.com lists Lock Poker in their data report we will have to rely on the eyeball test, and do a quick run through of each site’s lobby to see which is busier.

Someone with knowledge of the traffic data at Lock Poker has told us that the site has seen as many as 1,700 players online at peak hours, and during their latest freeroll that number shot up to 2,000 players.

Yet according to PokerScout.com, Revolution has been struggling to reach 400 players at peak times in the last few days.
