When Full Tilt Poker announced the creation of Multi-Entry Tournaments we knew at some point this would happen, and Full Tilt Poker even put a contingency plan in place for when it did happen, but few people expected it to happen in such a large and prestigious tournament, and that one of the top poker players in the world would be the person to accomplish the feat: So what happened? Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers entered the $1,000 buy-in Monday $2 Million four times thanks to the Multi-Entry Format, and two of those entries made it to the final table!

As per the rules of Multi-Entry Tournaments Sowers two chip-stacks were combined, and his second entry was awarded 9th place prize-money, $28,848. Sowers would go on to win the tournament outright –as no deal was reached– with his other entry, adding $490,295 to his already impressive haul.

The tournament usually boasts a $1 million guarantee, but Full Tilt Poker is in the midst of its second Doubles Guarantee Week promotion, and 2,404 entries were recorded, swelling the prize-pool to over $2.4 million. Two other well known online poker pros also made the final table, Mickey “Mement_Mori” Petersen and Chris “Moorman1” Moorman who finished in 3rd place.

So when the trivia question is asked, “Who was the first person to reach the final table twice in the same tournament?” you can snap-call the answer as Mike Sowers. The poker pro has millions in online poker winnings –with at least $2.5 million in recorded earnings– and has racked up over $2 million in live tournaments as well.
