Rumor: Victory Poker leaving Everleaf for Cake
Victory Poker burst onto the online poker scene last year by signing a slew of top poker players like Antonio Esfandiari, and taking the little known Everleaf Poker Network into the spotlight –Everleaf traffic increased dramatically after the addition of Victory Poker.
However, the limitations of the small network soon stunted Victory Poker’s growth in the industry, and recent speculation began that the site would be leaving the Everleaf Poker Network. The first sign was Victory Poker’s CEO Dan Fleshyman promised a ‘major announcement’ on September 1st. This throw-away line was picked up by Rebecca Liggerio at CalvinAyre.com where she blogged: “Victory Poker CEO Dan Fleyshman has publicly promised to make ‘an exciting Victory Poker announcement’ at his birthday party in London September 1st, Dan has been spending an usually large amount of time in Vancouver over the past month, and two major poker networks – Cake and Merge – have offices in Vancouver.”
Just a few days later PokerNewsDaily has independently confirmed that Victory Poker will be heading to the Cake Poker Network.
The Cake Poker network recently lost two important sites, and then had to deal with a security breach involving weak encryption –which has been upgraded since—which caused traffic on the site to plummet, and the site once making its way into the top 10, slipped back to #16 according to PokerScout.com. However, the addition of Victory Poker is likely to give Cake another top 10 push.
