With 31,000 of the 50,000 hands in the books, Tom “durrrr” Dwan is steadily pulling away from Patrik Antonius in their “Challenge Match”. The two players were able to log some 2,000 hands over two separate sessions with Dwan winning close to $150k over the two sessions; putting his total lead to $1,077,932.

There is still a long way to go before the challenge is concluded, but time is starting to run out for Antonius, and he has been steadily losing ground as of late. With little high-stakes action –where are you Isildur1—the poker world is hoping the two superstars will be able to conclude the challenge match before the summer, and the World Series of Poker.

Dwan is suppose to face Phil Ivey next, but with the length of time it has taken Antonius and Dwan to play 50,000 hands it seems quite likely the parameters of the challenge will be tweaked a bit if the match does take place.
