When Tony G puts his mind to something it’s usually very difficult to deter the poker pro and media mogul. Tony’s latest quest is to own the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event Championship bracelet that Peter Eastgate is auctioning off on EBay to raise money for UNICEF.

On his Party Poker blog Tony G wrote –with typical Tony G hubris: “I have decided that I am going to buy Peter Eastgate’s WSOP Main Event winner’s bracelet… It is currently trading at $16,500 on eBay and I am going to lead the bidding at $17,500. I don’t expect any further bids and, as I know, there are very few people with the heart and courage to challenge a determined Tony G.” You’ve got to have HEART AND COMMITMENT!

So what are Tony G’s plans for the bracelet? Tony explains his desire to “bling” out his loyal German Shepherd: “What am I going to do with Peter’s bracelet? Well, the plan is to get it adapted into a special collar for my trusted German Shepherd Zasko. The ultimate dog bling – as my gladiator and protector he deserves to be kitted out in such style.”

However this chapter of poker history ends up it will surely be an interesting final week of the auction,  as the bidding has grown quite heated in recent days –with the bracelet that is estimated to be worth $16,000 fetching over $52,000 on EBay! Apparently UNICEF will be the real winner of the auction.
