Rounders 2

The big news on Monday was the potential (real potential) for a sequel to Rounders to be in the pipeline. The news first came to light on indiewire.com which quoted Harvey Weinstein as saying:

“I’ve discussed making ‘Rounders 2’ with Matt Damon and I would say that’s going to be instantaneous,” the mogul declared. “The guys [writers David Levien and Brian Koppelman] have a great idea, a way to make it more international where you start the card game in Paris, that’s all I want to say. There might be a certain beautiful Parisian actress involved in it, and then we’re off to the racetrack and Vegas with Matty and Edward Norton, and a new supervillain to replace John Malkovich.”

Golden Nugget joins the New Jersey lineup

Another big story this past week was the Golden Nugget finally receiving full approval from the New Jersey DGE to offer online gambling in the state.

EPT Prague attracts over 1,000 entrants

Dan Smith wins WPT Five Diamonds

Poker pro Dan Smith picked up his first WPT victory this past week, winning the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamonds World Poker Classic. Alex Weldon put together a great summary of Smith’s victory, which you can read here.
