Brad Daugherty’s WSOP Main Event bracelet fetches $30k

I’m not certain what Brad Daugherty expected his 1991 World Series of Poker Main Event bracelet to bring on EBay, considering the bidding has reached $30,100 and the reserve is yet to be met! This is particularly astonishing considered I initially expected the bracelet to fetch little more than its weight in gold when the auction was first announced.

Apparently Daugherty had visions of Peter Eastgate’s near $150,000 auction price, but two things are working against Daugherty: the fact that his WSOP win came back in 1991 (and Daugherty has had little success since), and that unlike Eastgate and UNICEF, Daugherty’s charity of choice is his bank account.

Perhaps the biggest thing working against Daugherty is the fact that the entire faceplate of the bracelet is engraved with the word “BRAD” in huge letters. So unless there is a poker enthusiast with the name of Brad, it’s unlikely anyone would wear the bracelet around.

It will be interesting to see if Daugherty will lower the reserve to make the sale.

Here is the listing posted by Daugherty on EBay:

I am offering my unique one of a kind1991 World Series of Poker Main Event bracelet which weighs 96 grams and is made of 14kt Gold, the face is hand engraved and says “Brad”, with all the card suits engraved in each corner. The back of the bracelet says “1991 World Champion of Poker, Binion’s Horseshoe. This bracelet supplied by Neiman Marcus to the World Series, symbolizes my win of the 1991 World Championship, and the first ever first prize of $1,000,000.

I am posting a link to this sale on

Happy Bidding
