Marty Smyth offers WSOP bracelet for $10k

Yet another World Series of Poker bracelet is up for sale, but this time the owner is going to forego the spectacle of auctioning off his small piece of poker history on EBay, instead Irish poker pro Marty Smyth wrote on his Card Player Europe blog that he would be willing to part with his 2008 WSOP Pot Limit Omaha World Championship bracelet for the sum of $10,000 (or maybe £10,000 since he wasn’t overly specific and did use the word quid earlier in the post).

Smyth apparently feels much the same as Peter Eastgate when it comes to his trophy writing:

“I’m very proud that I also won a WSOP event and the title means a lot to me.

However the bracelet itself doesn’t really mean much. I’ll never wear it and I haven’t even looked at it in over a year. I know Peter is a Main Event winner and mine wouldn’t fetch anything like the price that his did, but if I thought I could even get a 5-figures sum for mine then it would be a shame for me to hold onto it.”

Smyth would also follow in Eastgate’s footsteps in that he would give the proceeds to charity, namely “kid’s hospitals in Belfast and Dublin.”

Anyone interested in buying Smyth’s bracelet can contact him via Card Player Europe or Boyle Poker where he is a sponsored pro.
