PokerStars to reveal Isildur1 identity on Saturday

A press conference has been announced for 7PM on Saturday evening at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure tournament series taking place in the Bahamas. At the press conference PokerStars will officially reveal the identity of their newest team member, Isildur1.

Although it is all but certainly the young Swedish poker pro Viktor Blom –who just happens to be taking part in the $100,000 Super-High-Roller tournament at the PCA today—Isildur1, and Blom, have done an excellent job of sowing just enough doubt to keep other theories alive. And keeping a secret like that in the poker world for well over a year is a feat in itself!

If Isildur1 is somehow not Viktor Blom than having him play in the PCA Super-High-Roller tourney, while keeping Isildur1 out of the tournament, would be the greatest level in poker history, and my hat’s off to PokerStars if this is the case.

It will be interesting to see how Isildur1/Blom is viewed in the poker world once his identity is confirmed, considering a huge part of his aura stems from his enigmatic identity. Although his high-stakes exploits also have a lot to do with his mystique, and went a long way to making Isildur1 the most high-profile online poker player on the planet.

So in less than two Days we will finally have the confirmation that the poker world has been looking for since late 2009, when Isildur1 first arrived at the nosebleed tables on Full Tilt Poker.
