Prior to the online poker boom most poker enthusiasts knew Lee Jones for his groundbreaking book Winning Low Limit Hold’ Em, as well as his contributions to Bluff Magazine and other poker publications. But Jones made his name during the early years of the Poker Boom with PokerStars, where he served as the site’s Card-Room Manager from 2003 -2007 before parting ways with the online poker site to explore other options in the poker world.

In his time as PokerStars’ Card-Room Manager Jones was widely hailed as the top mind in the online poker industry, and is credited with helping PokerStars become the online poker giant it is today. After a short-stint with the European Poker Tour –owned by PokerStars– Jones moved on to Cake poker where he assumed his previous title that he held at Stars of Card-Room Manager. Under Jones Cake Poker grew into one of the top online poker networks in the world, but when the wheels started coming off in late 2010 –with the Cake Poker Network losing a number of skins—and Jones and the company went their separate ways with Jones unhappy with management decisions at the site.

Now Jones is back in a familiar environment, but in an entirely new role. PokerStars announced earlier today that Jones was named the Head of Home Games –the site’s latest innovation that allows players to create private poker leagues for their friends and family. With the addition of Jones you can definitely expect some improvements to the Home Games format and likely some very interesting promotions as well!
