Former November Nine member Chino Rheem came under fire last week in a thread on 2+2 created by poker pro Will Molson, and after more poker pros came forward detailing their frustrations with Chino’s failure to repay loans and debts the story picked up even more steam as Chino cashed in the Epic Poker League Main Event, made the final table, and eventually won the $1 million first-prize.

The rumors of Chino’s outstanding debts was first brought to light by 2011 November Niner Ben Lamb, who detailed his interaction with Rheem at the 2011 WSOP, and the means taken by Chino to avoid paying the debt. Last week it was Will Molson, detailing his own interaction with the known debtor, who not only borrowed money from Molson, but lied in the process.

Molson’s story saw a number of other well known players come forward with their own versions of “Getting Chino’ed” including 2010 WSOP Main Event 3rd place finisher Joseph Cheong and Tom Dwan.

After winning the $1 million prize –Chino was likely backed in the tournament and probably had less than 30% of himself by all accounts—Chino made good on a number of these debts, something his friends have said he would all along, and took to his Twitter account to try to salvage his reputation:

“Ya, I won a million bucks! And I’m still broke! But I feel better than ever! Anyone who wants to judge me, y’all better know me first!”

“I’m living my life! Broke or pumped! Imma do it! I know who my friends are, I’m grateful for y’all! I love y’all! I’ll die for my team!”

One of the players that received payment was Ben Lamb, who took to Twitter as well:

“OMG, Chino won $1 million and paid me my money (most people got 10% paid) I got all.”
