2010 was an unbelievable year for UK poker pro Jake Cody who established himself as one of poker’s rising stars with his win at the PokerStars EPT Deauville Main Event in January and followed that up with a WPT victory in London in August! So it came as no surprise when the young poker pro captured both the Player of the Year award and the Rookie of the Year award at the 10th Annual European Poker Awards that were held in Paris, France this past weekend.

Cody was also nominated in the Outstanding Tournament Performance category but lost out to his fellow countryman James Bord. While winning the awards in Paris, Cody was busy winning the High-Roller tournament at the UKIPT Nottingham tournament series, so while Simon Trumper accepted the hardware on his behalf, Cody was busy wrapping up a £42,000 victory!
