Daniel JUNGLEMAN12 Cates issues open challenge

It’s been a while since the poker world caught wind of a high-stakes challenge match, but that changed on Thursday when Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates decided to throw out an open challenge to any player ready to take him on in a live, heads-up, match at the Prague Poker Festival in early December.

Cates has been fairly quiet in recent months, having weathered the storm that was the “Girah” scandal, but is apparently ready to get back to his nosebleed stakes, considering he is offering his open challenge to any poker player willing to take him on in a $200/$400 heads-up NLHE match with a minimum of $100,000 on the line.

The news came via the website pokerfarm.com, and the match(s) will be available via the same outlet. According to the article the matches will be shown on a 15-minute delay with hole-cards viewable during the live stream.

Here is what Cates told PokerFarm.com:

“As someone who loves the game, I think the poker world deserves to know who the best poker player on the planet is. I’m confident that it’s me… If anyone has the nerve to take me on, let them come to Prague in December and sit down across from me at the table.”

While I still have trouble wrapping my head around how a heads-up match decides the best poker player, I think the entire community is salivating for the chance to watch a couple of nosebleed players tangle.
