Liv Boeree and UB Poker part ways
2010 EPT San Remo winner, and everyone’s favorite rocker/poker player Liv Boeree, and UB Poker have “unofficially” parted ways. Poker News Daily first reported a possible break-up between the two parties at the 2010 WSOP where Boeree wasn’t sporting the UB logo, and now the site has taken Boeree’s name off their site and in an odd move basically erased any mention of her on the site –the name Akhenaten comes to my mind: For you non-Ancient Egypt buffs just Google the name. So, even though there has been no official statement from either side, it appears a foregone conclusion.
The smart money would be on Boeree landing at either PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker, who seem to be in the business of snatching up any well-known poker name on the market. However, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for the UK born Boeree to wind up at a European site like Party Poker or Everest Poker, and she definitely fits into the new Bodog Poker model of sponsored pros: Good-looking, female, and possessing a fun-loving attitude.
Boeree was better known for being the astrophysicist turned rocker, with a pretty face, as opposed to a serious poker pro before her huge EPT win, but all that changed after she took down her first major poker tournament victory.
However, If you still want to sign up at UB Poker, make sure to use a Ultimate Bet referral code to get a deposit bonus.
