Jerry Buss is no stranger to the poker community, the multi-millionaire owner of one of sport’s most legendary franchises can often be found in high-stakes poker games and competing in major tournaments and now will start devoting a lot more time to poker.

Buss, who has handed over most of the day-to-day operations of his businesses to his children, is planning on becoming something of a poker professional –although he admits he’s not sure how profitable he will be.

At 77, albeit a young 77, poker is one of the few endeavors Buss could jump into and not worry about his age being a hindrance. Buss is considered a competent poker player, although he is definitely a fish in the high-stakes games he typically partakes in, but with a lot more time and effort there really is no telling how strong a poker player Buss could potentially become.

Buss has appeared on both Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker, and almost captured a WSOP back in 1991 in a $2,500 buy-in 7-Card-Stud event where he ultimately finished 3rd behind Rodney Pardey and Don Williams.

Buss recently won a $200 HORSE event on the WSOP circuit series in San Diego; his 5th win in tournaments with similar buy-ins. Overall, Buss has accumulated just over $160,000 in live tournament winnings in his career.
