WSOP champ questions online poker’s integrity

We are all used to the “Online Poker is Rigged” threads that pop-up daily on the online poker forums, or in the comment sections of articles and poker blogs, but rarely is it from someone of the stature of Jason Young, who won a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2008, and has accrued over $687k in lifetime tournament winnings.

In a recent blog post, Young went on to describe a terrible run of cards he had recently playing online poker –it should be noted that he was on a massive heater prior to this, which also fuels his speculation—where he expresses his doubts over the legitimacy of online poker.

While I think the issue is one that shouldn’t be idly dismissed –I’m not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but I’m not a sucker either!—Young goes a little overboard when he starts talking about “hot” ISP addresses, and how some players run like God all the time.

He cites not only his difficulty in beating the online poker game, but also a number of live pros he knows that run bad online, despite their skill level. While he was definitely tilted while writing the post –it’s loaded with fiery language—in the end he only swears off online poker for a month, it will be interesting to see if this story develops further, or if it just dies.
