Annie Duke Bio

Annie Duke is a professional poker player who is known not only for her poker playing skills and successes but also her willingness to create tournaments and games in order to raise funds for a number of charities that she supports.

Duke, the sister of Howard Lederer, another well known professional poker player has been able to break out of the shadow of her brother who is considered to be one of the best poker players in the world, producing enough successes to brand her as possibly one of the best female poker players in the world.

Born in 1965, Duke was born into a family that had both cards and competition at heart, learning how to play poker from a young age with her brother and father.

Once the female poker player moved to Montana in the early 1990’s, her brother Howard supported her within her quest to become a professional poker player, helping out with the financing as well as coaching his sister to the required level required to be successful within the professional poker circuit.

In 1994, Duke moved to Las Vegas with her husband Ben Duke and within the same year made her debut within the World Series of Poker tournament series, finishing in a highly respectable 13th place and knocking out her own brother in the process.

With poker success still following this professional around, it was no surprise that the female poker pro was approached to endorse UltimateBet, joining the professional roster at the online poker room.

With Duke quickly becoming one of the best known female poker players in the world, Annie decided that it would be a good time to create an autobiography, entitled “Annie Duke: How I Raised, Folded, Bluffed, Flirted, Cursed and Won Millions at the World Series of Poker.
