Poker Player From Nottingham Becomes Poker Millionaire
We have all had to work a job at some point or another in life where we feel that we are working for nothing other than to cover the bills and a dad of three who lives in Nottingham, United Kingdom has managed to break that routine through his decision to play professional poker.
Julian Thew used to work as a decorator and delivery driver within Nottinghamshire opted to leave his job in a bid to try to make a living at the gambling tables and his decision has certainly paid off.
The amateur turned professional poker player recently managed to take his poker winnings to a huge £1.7 million.
Although the newly turned professional player has cashed more than £1.7 million in poker winnings, Julian Thew has revealed that he is hungry to improve on that figure, setting his sights on further success within the next up and coming PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) rolls into his home town of Nottingham.
The tournament is set to attract a huge selection of poker hopefuls and with a large total prize pool of $100,000 up for grabs over the 5 day tournament series, its not surprise that participation figures are expect to be higher than the last installment of the UKIPT.
The tournament selection offers a tournament for every player, with the likes of women only tournaments also being ready to be made available, paving the way for a number of female amateur poker players to make a name for themselves within the poker community.
