Soi Nguyen
Soi Nguyen is from Vietnam and was a completely unknown player until he managed to secure his 2010 position in the Main Event November Nine. In fact before the World Series Of Poker Soi had only played three other live tournaments making him a true wild card at this final table. He is now playing for a life changing amount of money and is guaranteed to cash for at least $811k.
He is not a professional poker player and works in Medical Supplies when he is not playing for millions of dollars at the World Series of Poker Main Event. Unsurprisingly he has never cashed a WSOP tournament before and his total recorded live tournament winning is absolutely zero. Due to his lack of play very few players really know Soi’s style which could prove to be an advantage to him when playing the Main Event final table.
Soi taught himself poker and learnt the game from simply playing with his friends. He is really more of a poker fan and says he favourite poker player of all time is Phil Ivey and I think a few other poker players might agree with him on that.
Soi is second to last in chips and no one is really expecting him to win the title. The Main Event has shown us time and time again that all you need is a chip and a chair and you are in with a chance. I won’t be putting any bet on Soi to win though.
