Sorel Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi is a professional Poker Player who until recently would have been better known by his online status “Imper1um“. Mizzi who was born in Toronto, Canada is rated as one of the best online poker players on the planet, and this is how he started his poker career, becoming one of the most feared Internet Poker players of his generation.

In 2006, Mizzi decided to turn his back on the outside world and become one of the greatest online poker players and made the MTT circuit his home. Since then he has constantly been near the top of all the Online Poker leaderboards and Poker Rankings. This is largely due to his insain instincts and extremely aggressive play that seems to be a feature of every great online player of his generation.

In 2007, Mizzi got his first taste of recognision outside of the Online Poker community, cashing 3 times at the 2007 WSOP, including the WSOP Main Event. However, 2007 was also the year he and his friend, Chris Vaughn, got banned from Full Tilt. It seems that Mizzi took over from Vaughn in a tournament, from a different location, and won the Full Tilt Poker tournament.However, both Mizzi and Vaughn where disquilified from the tournament, with the winnings for 1st going to 2nd. Mizzi did apologize for the incident, but was still banned from Full Tilt along with Vaughn.

2007 was also the year he finished 3rd in the Irish Poker open for roughly $280,000.

Since then Mizzi has had plenty of success live. With his most promenent cashes coming from; 2008 WSOPE $5000 PLO Event in London where he finished 2nd for $240k, 2008 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas which he won and collected $143k, 2009 WSOP PLO $5000 in Vegas where he finished 2nd to collect $253k, and also a 3rd in the 2010 Aussie Millions for over $650k, and most recently finishing 6th in the EPT Monte Carlo.

Sorel Mizzi’s Poker skills have never been in doubt since the day he started playing. Becoming an over night sensation as “Imper1um” and since collecting near $3 million in live tournamnets and probably more in Online tournament winnings.
