Lock Poker refutes Revolution claims following split

Lock PokerYesterday we brought you the news that Lock Poker had left the Revolution Gaming Network, ending their contentious year and a half run on the Cake Poker led network. Lock Poker is now moving their players to their new site, Lock 2.0, as they take the ambitious step towards becoming a fully independent online poker room.

Since yesterday’s announcement the story has only grown more complicated. While Lock Poker has been busy e-mailing their players and sending out the new software’s download link, the Revolution Gaming Network has been doing some messaging of their own. Anyone who logs on to their old Poker account is being greeted with the following message and being directed to create an account at Pure Poker:

Due to Lock’s ongoing financial issues, the poker service to Lock was terminated. We apologize for the inconvenience. Pure Poker is offering you a chance to redeem your Lock player balance immediately.

PokerNewsBoy.com has learned that this is not the case. According to a Lock Poker spokesperson, it was Lock Poker who ended the relationship, listing dozens of instances of unscheduled downtime and dozens of instances of service failures. The Lock Poker representative also cited multiple instances of breach of contract. According to Lock Poker these complaints were sent to the site’s regulatory agency, Curacao eGaming.

Lock Poker also released a statement on their website regarding the situation, which reads in part:

Initially the page where Lock players were redirected contained a patently false statement – that Lock’s poker services were “terminated”. Our legal counsel wrote to the operator of the Revolution network and demanded that this statement be taken down and, we confirmed that the page had been corrected to remove the false statement in less than an hour. However, the network has failed to resolve the more pressing issue – being that it is attempting to take Lock players and damage their business via a deceptive and misleading practice. This is conduct that is obviously meant to damage Lock and to cause confusion in the minds of consumers. To an extent this has already been successful as is evidenced via the threads appearing on the 2 + 2 forums and the emails we have been receiving from players.

The move by Revolution Gaming to poach Lock Poker players, with what Lock Poker is calling false and misleading information, is not being taken lightly, and the site has threatened repercussions against Revolution Gaming if they do not cease this practice immediately. Revolution Gaming has since removed the language alleging Lock Poker was terminated from the network.

Players looking to download the real Lock Poker v2.0 can visit LockPoker.eu, where they will be greeted with a download option underneath the company’s new slogan: A NEW BEGINNING.
