Online poker room Ultimate Bet officially changes name to UB.com
A long-time acronym use by poker players for the online poker site, UltimateBet.com has rebranded itself with the name UB.com. While not a significant change, the move is likely a way to put even more distance between the new management team and the cheating scandal that went down in the past.
Since the scandal the popular online poker site has pretty much cleaned house: New network; new platform; new COO; and now a new name! Another interesting move by the site was the recent hiring of Joe Sebok as a player and consultant. Sebok was one of the most vocal critics of the site during the controversy, and his addition really shows online poker players that everything is once again in order over at UB.
There has been no word yet if UB’s sister site Absolute Poker will follow suit and be called AP (another oft-used acronym in the poker world) or will keep the full titular currently in use.
Poker Tip: If signing up to UB.com, make sure to sign up with Ultimate Bet Rakeback.
