According to PokerPages.com, Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier has announced she is leaving PokerStars to pursue other interests. With the loss of Mercier, PokerStars is losing one of the most recognizable female faces in the poker world.

Mercier’s first brush with success came in 2004 when she won the WPT “Ladies Night II” Invitational tournament. “No Mercy” was quickly signed by PokerStars and along with Chris Moneymaker became the face of the online poker-room. In her 5-years with PokerStars Mercier was featured in numerous advertisements and was instrumental in promoting the company internationally –The Canadian born Mercier has also lived and worked and France at the Aviation Club.

Mercier can also make the claim of being the first poker pinup girl: The Vanessa Rousso before Vanessa Rousso (must be something with the French last names…) However, like Rousso Mercier is not simply a pretty face who happens to plays cards; she’s a card-player who happens to have a pretty face. Mercier has one over $1,000,000 in live and online tournaments throughout her career.

It’s unclear if Mercier will sign with another poker room or if she will focus her time and energy on her own company ‘No Mercy Productions’. Mercier recently finished her autobiography titled “Profession: Bluffer” and will likely be hitting the book tour circuit.
