Troubled online poker site Pitbull Poker folds

Pitbull Poker is no stranger to bad publicity, and it has been confirmed today (by PokerNewsDaily.com who has had direct access to the sites network manager Dave Brenes) that the site has officially closed its doors. The troubled site has faced numerous allegations since it opened its doors: The site has been charged with ranging from poor customer support and inferior software that causes numerous ‘bugs’, to outright cheating.
The rumors started on September 29th when players were unable to log-in to the site and were given the following message:
Application Error
An unexpected error has occurred! Our support team has been already informed. See details below.
Message: com.draagon.util.ResourceException: com.draagon.meta.MetaException: Unable to load objects of class [draagon::user::User]
Around the same time a 2+2 thread was started by someone claiming to be Brenes (which was later confirmed by pokernewsdaily.com) : In his post Brenes claimed that staff informed him that ownership was sneaking out in the middle of the night with computers; the staff then called the police, and the culprits were taken in for questioning.
At this point it’s still unclear if Pitbull customers will be reimbursed or not. This sad episode is yet another indicator of how important it is for the US Congress to legalize and regulate this industry in order to prevent these types of scenarios from occurring.
