poyWe are heading into the home stretch of the tournament season and it appears that the Player of the Year races are going to come right down to the wire.

Some of the early frontrunners, like Paul Volpe and Steve Silverman have fallen off after their torrid starts, while perennial contenders like Marvin Rettenmaier, Mike Watson, and Steve O’Dwyer are making their usual push for the title.

And then there is Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu has a legitimate chance at capturing all three Player of the Year awards with a strong finish to the year, and could conceivably win the WSOP Player of the Year award with a big showing in next month’s WSOP Europe series.
