FS+G make changes to pro poker league schedule

Now that they have a serious direct competitor for the best poker players in the world in Full Tilt Poker’s recently announced Onyx Cup Series, the exclusive Federated Sports + Gaming Poker League fronted by Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack has decided to tweak their schedule instead of trying to butt heads with their competitors.

The tournament structure and details will remain the same, but the dates have been changed in some cases by a week and in others by nearly a month. Here is a look at the new revised schedule for the still unnamed poker league:

Event #1: August 5th – August 12th

· Main Event: August 9th to 12th

Event #2: September 2nd – September 9th

· Main Event: October 6th to 9th

Event #3: December 9th – December 18th

· Main Event: December 14th to 18th

Event #4: January 27th – January 30th and February 9th – 12th

· Main Event: February 9th – 12th

$1 million Freeroll Championship Event: February 13th and 14th

The new schedule does a much better job of targeting the lull’s in the poker tournament world just after the WSOP concludes and just after the November final table, as well as avoiding the PokerStars PCA and Aussie Millions in early to mid-January.

With the first tournament scheduled for August there has been little coming out of the FS+G camp regarding which players will be invited to participate –there will supposedly be some 200 tour cards given out, which network will telecast the tournaments, and even what the name of the tour will be!
