Mclean Karr wins Bay 101 poker tournament — Phil Hellmuth i
Phil Hellmuth looked to be in good shape heading into the final table at the Bay 101 Shooting Star Poker Tournament; the 11-time WSOP bracelet winner was 2nd in chips, and by far the most experienced poker player left in the field. Unfortunately it was not meant to be for Hellmuth who was the first player eliminated at the final table. Hellmuth has yet to capture a WPT title, and is now 0-for-5 at final tables on the WPT.
With the elimination of UB Poker’s Phil Hellmuth, and the other tournament pro Hasan Habib sitting on a short-stack, the Bay 101 tournament was literally up for grabs. In the end it was little known Mclean Karr who captured the title and the $878,500 in first-place prize-money. Karr shattered his previous winnings which stood at just over $113,000; prior to the Bay 101 win Karr’s biggest score was $42,000 which he pocketed for winning a NLHE event at the Deepstacks Extravaganza.
Here is a complete list of the final table results:
1st: Mclean Karr — $878,500
2nd: Andy Seth — $521,500
3rd: Dan O’Brien — $292,800
4th: Hasan Habib — $234,300
5th: Matt Keikoan — $175,700
6th: Phil Hellmuth — $117,000
