Sam Trickett wins Party Poker World Open VI

The Party Poker World Open VI got underway last week with seven preliminary heats pitting some of the best poker talent in the world against one another. The winner of each heat was awarded with a spot at the final table which took place yesterday at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair, London. The final table contestants were:

* Dale Hoy
* Juha Helppi
* Toby Lewis
* Andrew Robl
* Yevgeniy Timoshenko
* John Duthie
* Sam Trickett

The shootout style format of the tournament saw each player enter the final table on equal footing, but In the end it was British poker pro Sam Trickett who captured the title, along with the $200k in first-place prize-money, defeating Yevgeniy Timoshenko in heads-up action. Trickett’s play caused Party Poker spokesman Mike Sexton to comment, “He’s one helluva player, and you’ll be hearing a lot more of Sam Trickett, I can promise you that.”

Trickett was fresh off a 4th place finish at the EPT Vilamoura event, worth over $175k, in addition to winning $500k for a runner-up finish in the $5,000 NLHE tournament at the 2020 WSOP. Trickett’s career earnings now exceed $1.7 million according to the Hendon Mob’s website.

1. Sam Trickett — $200,000
2. Yevgeniy Timoshenko — $110,000
3. Toby Lewis — $75,000
4. Juha Helppi — $35,000
5. John Duthie — $25,000
6. Andrew Robl — $20,000
7. Dale Hoy — $15,000
