Third Epic Poker League Main Event is underway

On Wednesday a total of 100 players registered for the third Epic Poker League Main Event, which is being played as a NLHE Mix-Max tournament –Day 1 is played at 8-Max tables, Day 2 at 7-Max tables, Day 3 at 6-Max, and Day 4 at 4-Max.

Among the players who entered the $20,000 buy-in tournament were Erik Seidel (who surprise, surprise ended the day as the chip-leader), Vanessa Selbst, Eugene Katchalov, Mike Mizrachi, Jason Mercier, Vanessa Rousso, Phil Laak, Ben Lamb, Chris Moorman, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Jennifer Harman, Mike “Timex” McDonald, Sam Trickett, and Doyle Brunson. Brunson was playing in his first Epic Poker League Main Event, and was honored with a lifetime exemption for the Epic Poker League prior to the Main Event.

The 100 entrants are three more than the last running of the EPL Main Event which attracted 97 players, but far fewer than the 137 entrants for the inaugural EPL Main Event. Of the 100 original entrants, 61 players managed to move on to Day 2 of the tournament.

2. Scott Clements — 203,400

3. Vanessa Selbst — 159,000

4. John ‘Brock’ Parker — 155,600

5. David Williams — 155,400

6. Matthew Glantz — 148,700

7. Thomas Marchese — 139,900

8. McLean Karr — 139,300

9. Amnon Filippi — 139,000

10. Samuel Stein — 135,500
