World-Series-of-Poker-July-2010-dealer-tables-300x200The PCA is over, the Aussie Millions is now underway, and across the globe there are a number of tournaments taking place. In this column I’ll fill you in on the happenings at the WSOPC Choctaw Main Event and other events from Atlantic City to the UK. With so many tournaments in action I’m going to keep this short and sweet and just give you the main information on each event.

WSOP Circuit Series Choctaw Main Event

The WSOPC Choctaw Main Event was the third largest tournament in WSOPC history (lagging behind the 2011 and 2012 WSOPC Hammond events) as 1,140 entrants took to the poker tables. In the end it was Jeff Fielder who picked-up his second WSOPC Gold Ring, pocketing over $300,000 in the process.

Huge field takes part in the Borgata Winter Poker Open

With a $1 million guarantee and a mere $560 buy-in, the Borgata Winter Open drew a huge field of 3,871 players for the opening event. Here is a look at the final table payouts from Event #1 of the Borgata Winter Open:

1. Joe Stiers – $318,104

2. Tanios Abi-Yaghi – $209,158

3. Sam Taylor – $137,261

4. Mark Sykes – $114,946

5. Mike Belton – $93,377

6. Dan Sprirer – $71,901

7. Tony Campagna – $51,359

8. Michael Borovetz – $35,481

9. Austen Johnson – $23,343

Andrea Montini wins IPT Campione Main Event

385 players registered for the first Italian Poker Tour (IPT) Main Event of 2013, and when the dust settled it was Andrea Montini who triumphed over the field.

1. Andrea Montini – $219,339

2. Vito Planeta – $178,761

3. Giuseppe Esposito – $97,463

4. Davide Slanzi – $72,555

5. Roberto Finotti – $48,406

6. Massimo Bulgari – $38,443

7. Federico Granara – $28,698

8. Ciro Petta – $19,384

Sam Valiki wins Event #2 at the Aussie Millions

After a massive field in Event #1, Event #2 at the 2013 Aussie Millions saw a more manageable field take part in the $1,100 PLO tournament, and it was Sam Valiki who walked away with the top prize of just over $50,000. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the event:

3. Trung Tran – $29,125

4. Nick Nicolaou – $22,125

5. Simon Twaites – $17,440

6. Vadmin Pinsky – $13,950
