With three days of play in the books at the North American Poker Tour stop at Mohegan Sun, PokerStars pro and Deuces Cracked instructor Vanessa Selbst leads the remaining 24 players with 2.285 million chips. Selbst has been in the top 3 chip counts at the conclusion of each day thus far.

The top 10 is full of big name players, including Scott Seiver and his 2.241 million chips are nipping at Selbst’s heels for the chip lead; Jordan Morgan and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy are both well over a million in chips; and Vanessa Rousso is still in the running with a 720,000 chip stack, giving the Team PokerStars pro and GoDaddy girl a chip-stack slightly below the average –blinds will resume at 10k/20k with a 2k ante.

With Rousso and Selbst having strong showings so far this could be a big break breakthrough for female poker players; who are quickly changing from a novelty, to a force to be reckoned with at the poker tables. We might be finding more stories about female poker stars in forthcoming poker articles. Perhaps we will see a heads-up duel between Selbst and Rousso?

Day 4 of the NAPT Mohegan Sun event will begin today at Noon EDT, with the field of 24 players playing down to the final 6 players.
