Taylor Caby and Jay Rosenkrantz to make poker documentary

A new poker documentary is in the works that will take a look at the evolution of online poker through some of its biggest stars. The working title of the documentary is fittingly, BOOM – The Incredible True Story of Online Poker, and is being produced by Poker pro and Cardrunners founder Taylor Caby, Deuces Cracked’s Jay Rosenkrantz and the producer of the poker film “From Busto to Robusto”, Ryan Firpo.

According to Rosenkrantz’s blog the movie sets out to tell the story of online poker as well as the culture that has evolved alongside it: “Our goal (is) to use key events to chronicle the evolution of online poker and examine its impact on the lives on a handful of online poker players from around the world. We’ll be exploring the nuances of subculture from 2p2 to poker training sites, along with the psychological implications of the online poker lifestyle and the themes that have made poker so popular throughout time.”

The project is still looking for players to feature in the documentary –I have no idea why the producers or some of their associates are not in the running– and is encouraging anyone interested to contact them via the documentary’s official Twitter page, or through E-Mail.
