Sam Razavi wins UKIPT Season 2 POY Award
Season 2 of the very popular PokerStars United Kingdom Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) has come to a close and it was British poker pro Sam Razavi who captured one of the tour’s top honors, being named the Player of the Season for Season 2 of the UKIPT. Razavi, a sponsored pro at Black Belt Poker, will receive an entry into every Main Event tournament of Season 3 of the UKIPT.
Razavis 240.35 points narrowly edged out Rupinder Bedi, who finished with a total 220.90 points; good enough to win four buy-ins for Season 3 of the UKIPT –Bedi will be able to choose which stops to use his free entry into.
Razavi’s path to the award began with a win at the UKIPT stop in Cork where he defeated a field of 602 players, and saw the young tournament pro net three other top 41 finishes: Razavi finished 17th out of 615 entrants at the UKIPT stop in Manchester; 36th out of 519 entrants at the UKIPT stop in Edinburgh; and 41st out of a massive 1,058 player field at the UKIPT stop in Nottingham.
