Goulder Beats WSOP Winner Perrins To Monte Carlo Title
The second Monte Carlo Event of the year at the Dusk Till Dawn poker rooms in Nottingham attracted a field of 252 runners, which meant yet again the guaranteed prizepool of £250,000 was surpassed.
The event was lived streamed for the first time, and re-entry was also on offer for the first time, and the eventual winner was Alex Goulder from Cambridge. Goulder is no stranger at Dust Till Dawn as he used to be dealer there, but he now plays cards for a living rather than dealing them.
Goulder collected in excess of £77,000 for his win, and he thoroughly deserved it after beating recent WSOP Bracelet winner Matt Perrins heads-up to take the title. Goulder was not worried about players reputations as on Day 1A he knocked out Christopher Bammer who recently cashed for $30,974 in the WSOP Main Event.

Hurst Wins Sky Poker Tour In Cardiff
Les Croupiers Casino in Cardiff played host at the weekend to the fifth leg of this seasons Sky Poker Tour, and as always there was a great turnout with 161 players in the field. Eventual Champion was Jamie Hurst, but it was Carl Taylor who took home the most money.

Play continued as there was the title and an extra £300 to play for. Taylor was the first to go leaving Hurst and Royle to fight it out heads-up for the title and a seat at the Grand Final later this year.

DTD Grand Prix Less Than Two Weeks Away
The Monte Carlo has just finished at Dusk Till Dawn poker rooms in Nottingham, but they are already gearing up for their next big event. In less than two weeks time the latest Grand Prix gets under way, but fear not, if you do not yet have a seat there is still plenty of time to secure yourself one.
The 300 Golden Chips that were on offer have already been snapped up, but you can still gain entry to the Grand Prix for just €2.20. Every night at 7pm and 9pm DTD are running a satellite to the Main Event, and one seat is guaranteed, but due to the high numbers of entries there are usually more available.
Players start with 1,500 chips and re-buys are available for the first 20 minutes. A triple add-on of 4,500 chips is available to all players and a clock of five minutes is in operation. An added bonus to all players is that they are not limited to just winning the one seat.
If you are lucky enough a win more than one seat you can transfer the funds back to your poker account, or transfer the seat to another player. You also have the option of using it a re-entry in to the Main Event, and with 20 Day 1’s available many people may well choice this option.
The final qualifying satellite will be held on Sunday 7th August at 9pm, as the Main Event starts the following day. You can of course just buy-in direct if you wish and for a decent price as well as entry is just €50 + €10. Entry for the Grand Prix is only available through the lobby online at DTD.
Busy Times Ahead At Fox Poker Club
The Fox Poker Club in the heart of London is the place to be when it comes to ‘Live’ Poker over the coming weeks. We have already brought you the news about their latest FPC Main Event and their London Calling Festival, which are both being held next month, but today we bring you news on two more great events.
First up is a H.O.R.S.E event which is to be staged this coming Saturday 30th July at 3pm. Entry is just £100 + £10 and players will start with a deepstack of 10,000 chips which will be accompanied by a 30 minute clock.
H.O.R.S.E. is a test of five different poker games and is played more in America than it is here in the UK. It is good to see the introduction of different games, so hats off to the marketing men at FPC for thinking outside the box.
On Sunday 31st July they will be staging a NLHE Super Sunday Tournament to see out the month of July which also starts at 3pm, and the buy-in has been set at £150 + £10. The clock will again be 30 minutes per level, but players will get an even deeper stack of 15,000 chips for this event.
If you want to be part of the action at the Fox Poker Club you will need to act fast as places are limited and selling fast. You can only enter in person at the club, or over the phone, so don’t delay if you want a seat in either of these great events.
The club recently signed its 17,000th member, Max Steele, and since opening last September they have paid out more than £1.5million in prize money. They will be celebrating their first birthday with a series of special events and we will of course bring you news of them as soon as the details become available.
APAT Scotland This Weekend
The Amateur Poker Association Tour has landed in Scotland for the latest leg of this seasons tour. The Gala Casino in Glasgow will play host to the two day event, and already the 120 seats have been sold creating a prizepool of £9,000. They may still be a chance of a seat though, and if any do become available they will be sold on a strictly first come first served basis.
Play commences at 2.30pm on Saturday 30th July and will conclude on Sunday 31st when a winner will be crowned. The winner is expected to pocket around £3,000, but they will also be rewarded with a seat to a Main Event on the PokerStars UKIPT.
Last years winner of the Scottish APAT was Scott Wilson who beat 127 other players in Aberdeen.
The tour has already seen some great action this year and organisers are expecting another bumper weekend, and on Sunday there will be a side event. Entry for the Six Max NLHE event is £25 + £5 and registration will be open from 4pm on Saturday.
Next month the World Series APAT Championships will be staged at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. It will be a five day festival and qualifiers are already running at DTD. There will be seven different events to chose from and it all starts on 25th August with the Team Championships and Stud Poker Championships. Entry to all events is €60 with the exception of the Main Event which is €120, and the Team Championship is €400 per team.
