It was announced Tuesday morning that Dan Harrington and Erik Seidel will be the two members of the 2010 class inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Seidel and Harrington have both had storied poker careers –careers that surely have not seen the final chapter written just yet—and were able to beat out eight other worthy finalists for the honor.

Seidel has quietly amassed an astounding 8 WSOP bracelets, and is most famously known for his runner-up finish in the 1988 WSOP Main Event –a scene that was immortalized in the movie Rounders. Seidel has also won a WPT title and has over $10 million in career tournament winnings.

Seidel began his poker career as a cash game player in New York, where he competed against fellow card players like Steve Zolotow and Howard Lederer, as well as his fellow 2010 HOF inductee Dan Harrington, before moving to Vegas.

Harrington won the 1995 WSOP Main Event, and made two improbable runs to the final table in 2003 and 2004 –a feat considered one of the greatest in poker history. In all, Harrington has reached an astounding four WSOP Main Event Final Tables, has two WSOP bracelets, and a WPT title! With the poker boom in full swing Harrington penned what is considered the seminal work on tournament poker, a 3-Part series dubbed Harrington on Hold’ Em.

Congratulations to Dan Harrington and Erik Seidel, the 2010 Poker Hall of Fame inductees.
