Andy Frankenberger wins WPT Player of the Year Award

By virtue of his two final tables –including a win in the 2010 Legends of Poker Main Event—as well as a 16th place finish in a third World Poker Tour Main Event, Andy Frankenberger locked up the WPT Player of the Year Award yesterday when Sam El Sayad and Shannon Schorr were eliminated from the $25k WPT Championship.

Here is a look at Frankenberger’s Season 9 accomplishments on the WPT:

$ 10,000 WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, 16th place for $ 33,785
$ 10,000 WPT Festa Al Lago, Las Vegas, 5th place for$ 161,200
$ 5,000 2010 WPT Legends of Poker, Los Angeles, 1st place for $ 750,000

In addition to his WPT accomplishments over the past year, Frankenberger has also final tabled the World Series of Poker Circuit Series Regional Championship in Atlantic City, as well as booking a win in the $2,000 NLHE at the 2010 Venetian Deepstack tournament series.
